The firm was founded in 1983 shortly after the second “oil shock” and was initially involved in representing developers of energy projects that used alternatives to fossil fuels, advocating their interests before state legislatures and regulatory bodies and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This practice propelled the firm and its attorneys into a national practice in energy, environmental, and project development related matters.
From the firm’s early intensive experience in the financing, permitting, and development of independently owned electric generating facilities grew an expertise in business transactions and commercial law. Over the years, the firm has employed this expertise on behalf of a wide variety of clients.
